DISTORTING MIRRORS FOR OUTDOOR USE

You often see distorting mirrors in public spaces, amusement parks, the funfair, but there are also municipalities, bird parks, care institutions and many others who like to use them outside. Because other environmental factors play a role in outdoor applications than indoors; think of wind, rain, hail, UV radiation, salt, salty or soft air, etc., the material of which we make the housing must meet specific requirements. After a long search, we selected 3 materials that we use for the frames of the distorting mirrors.

  • HPL (high pressure laminate)
  • Composite plastic
  • Foamed PVC

By using these materials we can divide them into 2 classes that again have to do with the vandal resistance.

  • ROBUST (hpl)
  • FIRM (composite plastic)

Generally, the STURDY version is sufficient, but sometimes absolute sturdiness is a must and the choice is HPL again. Even if you want a separate color, HPL is the choice. To assist you optimally in these choices, we are happy to help you. Send your smile mirror expert Ronald Kooij an email by clicking on this link. Below we will take a closer look at the different classes of vandal resistance.

OUTDOOR SUITABLE DISTORTING MIRROR ROBUST

Our most sturdy smiley mirrors, the & nbsp; ROBUST series, is made from a solid-core 19mm thick & nbsp; trespa, available in many colors and equipped with a stainless steel mirror. Mounting on a flat wall or between two posts. We prepare this so that you do not have to drill in Trespa. These smiley mirrors are reinforced on all vital parts so that they can have a lot. They weigh an impressive 35 KG! It is therefore extremely important to assemble them properly. Distortingmirror.co.uk does not mount the laugh mirrors, for that you can hire a local handyman or your own handyman. We provide you with all tips and tricks and we have a montage film and magazine available. You will receive all of these after purchase. Delivery time of the robust series is 4 to 6 weeks depending on the trespa stock with us. These TRESPA distorting mirrors have a modern sleek look.

OUTDOOR SUITABLE DISTORTING MIRROR FIRM

A second variant in which our outdated distorting mirrors are available is what we call & nbsp; FIRM. & Nbsp; Sturdy, they are certainly but not 100% foolproof. This is because the material used, a special type of plastic, is softer than trespa. Milling these frames is considerably cheaper than trespa and you will notice that in the price. So take a good look at your vandal resistance needs. And of course to your personal taste. This series has a rustic, more classic, almost chic appearance due to the imprinted wood grain structure. Available in 2 colors, gray and expresso (brown).

USE INDOOR DISTORTING MIRROR OUTSIDE?

FRAME
On the photo below you can see a smile mirror in the material BIRCHEN Multiplex where the Colorply Lacquer layer has now completely disappeared & nbsp; It is also no longer visible whether this was the White wash or Brown version. Click on the image for a larger view and look at "2". There you can see the varnish peeling off. The plywood is glued waterproof and withstands the rain and snow with its full glory!

MIRROR
In most cases, we provide distorting mirrors for indoor use with acrylic mirrors. However, these are not moisture resistant and so they will weather and get to speak with & nbsp; Drew Pritchard & nbsp; a nice & nbsp; "Patina". Look at "1", which also applies to the frame of this smile mirror.

PROCESSING THE MIRROR
If you decide to hang a Forex mirror, you don't have to worry about the frame, the only thing that may have to be replaced with a number of years is the acrylic mirror. We do not glue the mirror into the rebates, so in theory the mirror plate is easy to replace, and will do that for a good price. We also treat the sill of the frame in such a way that little or no water can remain behind. Because water affects the vaporised layer on the back of the acrylic. The weathering that results is beautiful but sometimes also annoying or appears to be overdue maintenance. But of course not if it fits in the entire picture as in the photo below!

Laughing mirror with beautiful patina, although this is not an outside laughter mirror, it has received a beautiful & quot; patina & quot; due to years of exposure to the elements.
